Privacy policy
Last updated: TODO
The short version. BatchAI Local has no servers and no accounts. Your documents go from your computer to the AI provider you choose, with your own key, or nowhere if you use a local model. We never receive your files, the values extracted from them or your API keys.
Who we are
BatchAI Local is published by TODO: legal name of the publisher, TODO: postal address, France. For any privacy question, write to TODO: contact email. More details are in the legal notice.
The desktop app
Your documents
Files you add are read on your computer. When you run a batch, each file is sent directly from your computer to the AI provider you selected in Settings (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google), using your own API key. We are not involved in that exchange and never see its content. The provider processes your files under its own terms and privacy policy:
With the Extract PDF text locally option, the text of each PDF is extracted on your computer and only
that text is sent. With a local OpenAI-compatible server (Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM on localhost), your files
never leave your computer.
Your API keys
API keys are stored by your operating system's keychain (Windows Credential Manager or macOS Keychain), never in a plain file. The app reads a key when a batch starts and sends it only to the matching provider.
Data stored on your computer
- Settings: provider, model, instruction, columns, language and theme, in the app's local storage. API keys are not part of it.
- Your templates: instructions and columns you saved, in the app's local storage.
- Batch recovery journal: while a batch runs, the file
batch-journal.jsonlin the app's data folder records the batch settings, the paths of its files and the values extracted so far, in plain text, so the batch can resume after a crash. It is deleted when every file is processed or when you clear the batch. - Trial record, in the keychain: the date the trial started, the last date the app was opened and the number of files processed during the trial. It never leaves your computer.
- License record, in the keychain: your license key, its activation identifier, the date it was last verified, the email used for the purchase and the number of activations.
Uninstalling the app and deleting its data folder and keychain entries removes all of this.
Network connections
The app's network permissions only allow these addresses: api.anthropic.com,
api.openai.com, generativelanguage.googleapis.com, api.lemonsqueezy.com,
localhost and 127.0.0.1. Every other address is blocked. The app contains no telemetry,
crash reporting or analytics.
License checks
When you activate a license, the app sends your license key and a device label (for example “BatchAI Local ·
Windows”) to Lemon Squeezy at api.lemonsqueezy.com, which returns the activation details, including the
email address used for the purchase. The app checks the license again at most once a week; when you deactivate a
computer, it tells Lemon Squeezy to free that seat. The free trial makes no network call.
Purchases
Licenses are sold by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy processes your payment, collects taxes, issues invoices and handles refunds, and it is responsible for the data you enter at checkout. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy. We receive the order details needed to provide your license and support: TODO: list what the Lemon Squeezy dashboard shares (name, email, country, product, amount).

Vercel and Lemon Squeezy are based in the United States. TODO: safeguards used for these transfers (Data Privacy Framework, standard contractual clauses). The AI provider you choose processes your files under your own agreement with it.

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format, by writing to TODO: contact email. Most of your data is on your own computer, under your control. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
Changes
